Today, the Institute performs more than 1000 different cardiac operations annually in patients with coronary heart disease. Operational assistance was provided to more than 20,000 patients with ischemic heart disease. The technique of aortocoronary bypass surgery on the working heart allowed not only to reduce operational trauma and reduce the time of rehabilitation of patients in comparison with artificial blood flow, but also significantly reduce postoperative lethality. In recent years, the mortality rate is 0.5% (in the US – 2%), this indicator is the best in the world.
The department developed an original method of providing surgical care to patients with left ventricular aneurysm. The experience of surgeons in the department has more than 2,500 such operations. The concentration of patients with such a severe complication of myocardial infarction in one center has led to the fact that the office is one of the few in the world where successful operations on the left ventricular aneurysm are 99%!
